Kent - Luxury Bed & Breakfast

The Area
Bearsted Green is well loved and well used by the local community. The village sign depicts the legendary Victorian resident and cricketing phenomenon Alfred Mynn with bat and stumps. Cricket is still played today and is synonymous with the Green in summer. On fine weekends locals and visitors lay out their picnic rugs to sit, enjoy the sport and also the vista of beautiful old Kent houses around the green itself.

The author of The Scarlett Pimpernel, Baroness Orczy, was a local resident in the Victorian era who was keen on aristocratic ways. Elderly residents recall in the history books of how, as small children, they were expected to bow or curtsey as Baroness Orczy’s carriage passed by.
